Free spins: the headline number is the wrong one
Of all campaign types this is the one whose title misleads most reliably. Spin count is advertised because it is a big number. Value comes from a product: spins multiplied by value per spin. A hundred spins at ten cents and twenty spins at fifty cents are identical packages — the first simply photographs better.
Three lines that define a package
| Line | Why it decides the package |
|---|---|
| Value per spin | Multiplied by the count, it gives the real size |
| Form of the winnings | Cash, or a bonus balance carrying its own multiplier |
| The tied game | Sets the variance, and therefore how the package behaves |
The form of the winnings outweighs the multiplier
In most cases winnings from spins arrive as a bonus balance with wagering attached, which means the outcome of the package is not money but a fresh obligation. Occasionally spins pay directly in cash; that is stated explicitly in the terms and makes the offer substantially more valuable even with fewer spins. How the requirement is computed is on the wagering page.
Why a package is tied to one game
Spin packages run where the operator and a game studio have an arrangement. For a player that means the package's behaviour is dictated by the game rather than the campaign: fifty spins on a high-variance slot will often produce nothing and occasionally a great deal, while a low-variance title returns in small pieces. Neither is better, but the expectation has to match — the variance logic is on the slots page and the individual titles on the games page.
Instalments build a habit
A hundred spins rarely means a hundred at once. The common shape is twenty a day for five days, with each day's portion expiring. Miss three days and three fifths of the package is gone, uncompensated. This is also why spin packages create routine more effectively than any other campaign type: they supply a reason to log in daily. If that mechanic starts to feel uncomfortable, limits and breaks are described on the responsible gambling page.
Pricing a package in four steps
- Multiply the spin count by the value per spin. That is the package size in euros.
- Check whether winnings arrive as cash or as a bonus.
- If as a bonus, find the multiplier and apply it to the package size.
- Check how many days the package is split across and when each portion expires.
Four calculations, about a minute, and they routinely separate two superficially similar offers by a wide margin.
Where spins usually appear
Rarely on their own. They tend to arrive attached to a welcome offer, as an addition to recurring reload campaigns, or as a tier benefit inside a VIP programme. Sometimes a promo code is involved and the moment of entry matters. The general rules that apply across all of them are on the bonus terms page, and the full map on the bonus page.
